We believe in the transformation of our streets to be safe, livable, and just places for all. Advocates and cities across the country are working to change their streets, and we want to help. Last year, six transportation advocacy groups used the tools awarded to them through our Mobility Data for Safer Streets program to:
1. Measure the success of local open streets initiatives and make the case for them to be made permanent.
2. Understand where people were riding bikes and advocate for the City's bike plan to prioritize infrastructure in these mostly low-income and communities of color.
3. Document a dangerous rise of drivers speeding and make the case to City officials to take measures to slow traffic. In 2021, Spin will award consortiums of transportation advocates, cities, community-based organizations, and research institutions with a suite of data tools to evaluate and advocate for transportation projects in your city.
